An update ...

I need to update this now while I have a free minute ... we’ve had a really great week or so around here!

Last week was a bit insane for us, but Thursday night Ethan and I were finally able to sit down and talk and veg a little bit. Friday afternoon, Ethan had an interview for a Tier 2 position at work. His managers have been pushing him and pulling strings higher up trying to get him promoted. Huge complement to Ethan and we’ll see what happens. Honestly, with managers pulling for him, if he doesn’t get promoted it will have to be because God doesn’t want him to move up quite yet.

Friday night we went to dinner at Maudies on beautiful 360 and had a great dinner out on the veranda. Ethan surprised me with the news that he had Saturday off!! He’s helping train new employees this week so they moved his schedule around.

I need to take some time to brag on my incredible husband ... He was nothing short of amazing this weekend. Saturday morning we went and had breakfast, then came home and did a bunch of stuff around the house. We have people coming into town for the next two weeks straight so we had to get the baby’s room in order and do some house cleaning. Ethan was so amazing ... He worked so hard and scrubbed both bathrooms because he doesn’t want me messing with chemicals with Baby ____ in the oven. :)

Saturday night was our big Youth Building Grand Opening event at church. We just opened two new youth buildings – one High School and one Middle School. We had a huge party with inflatables, music, prizes, chickfila, etc. So needless to say, my work week last week was insane preparing for that event among our summer programming, design work, etc. You can view some pictures here! Sunday was an amazing day at church. It was our first Sunday in the Youth Buildings and the High School building was packed. Ethan is in the worship band for the High School crew and he loves it. He loves playing with the kids and getting to help them learn and grow. The new sound systems in the buildings are phenomenal and it was a great Sunday. The kids were so pumped and so into worship!

Our church also made a big announcement this Sunday ... we are have changed the name of our church to Austin Ridge Bible Church. Ethan and I are really stoked about this change. We also released a new web site www.austinridge.com. My friend and mentor Lindy took all the photos and I got to help do some picking and graphic work. I’m bummed that they took all the new staff photos during my pregnancy ... blech!

We are so excited and encouraged by what God is doing at our church. We love Austin so much and it is so wonderful to be exactly where God wants us at such a perfect time. We look forward to investing in this city and into our community. How sweet the blessings are when we listen to God and allow him to move us and change us.

Sunday night we went to pick up our crib that came in a little earlier than expected. Ethan spent about an hour putting it together. It was so cute. He did an amazing job and was so proud of himself. He’s such a proud daddy already. I died laughing when he said “I’m rocking this crib ... By the time I’m done with it you won’t even need a mattress for this thing.” It was hilarious.
