We spent tonight at Barnes and Noble reading ... one of his favorite pastimes. Unfortunately, by the time we were done my sinuses were bothering me so bad we had to come home instead of going to life group. sad.

Birthday brunch for Laura on Saturday morning at Che Zee - YUM!

A friend gave me a really cool wire photo hanger awhile back. I was scouring the Internet looking for another one for the nursery this week. Couldn't find it anywhere. I emailed her today asking where she got it and she had another one at home she was getting rid of and brought it to me today. I found some really cool vintage ABC and puzzle cards last week. Obviously it will be awhile before we can start using those but they are too cool not to decorate with.

Not the best photo quality but here is my idea.
I'm a huge bargain shopper, thus hunting for nursery furniture has been frustrating. However, I found a great deal on a cubby shelf that we like and we're going to pick it up from Ikea in the next few days.
This is the shelf. I've picked up some cool toys on sale and our children's book collection is growing. I'm thinking of getting some canvas drawers to put on the bottom shelf, something to accent the baby bedding.
In other news, we had a busy weekend and a great time with friends ...
Friday night we met at the Broken Spoke to celebrate Laura Wyrtzen's bday. So fun! Ethan and I had a blast, we felt like we were in a movie. The place was so Texan you couldn't help but love it. Some of our friends saw Patty Griffin there and we also saw Dana Wheeler-Nicholson from the movie Tombstone. Brian and Josh both asked her to dance ... she declined both. Sad but funny to watch.
Laura teaching Ethan the two-step.
Sweet Scarlett showing us her belly button.
Saturday night we spent at the Denbar's with everyone celebrating their birthdays and watching UFC. Sunday night was a super bowl part at the McCambridge's where we said goodbyes to Scottie and Kari. I miss them so much. Then, needless to say, we crashed and home late Sunday night.
Sunday afternoon we went to scope out the guitar Ethan is getting for his birthday. He ordered it from a local guitar store on Monday and is picking it up this weekend.

Gretsch hollow body electric. It sounds amazing!
Ethan has been teaching guitar lessons to a couple of kids here in Austin for quite a while, we figured it was about time that guitar money went to encourage his own musical ability.
We find out if we are having a boy or a girl in two weeks! We are planning to have the nurse write the sex on a piece of paper and then we are going to breakfast afterwards to find out what we are having! Can't wait!
I don't think there is a day that goes by that we don't reflect on God's tremendous blessings in our lives.
