Mommy and Claire at the Zoo ...

Ethan had to work today and since Claire and I are feeling better we decided we needed to visit the Austin Zoo! The zoo is really close to where we live and it's actually an animal rescue zoo/sanctuary. It was really fun and very different that any zoo I've ever visited. It has a very cool "Austin" feel to it.

When Claire woke up I asked her if she wanted to go to the zoo today and she gave me a big grin and a big nod. (Side note: She nods now. She has been shaking her head "no" for quite awhile but now she nods "yes" when asked a question. Daily I amazed and how she gives the proper response to questions. Brilliant.)

Here's some highlights from our morning at the zoo!

Claire and the Peacock ...
(Claire deciding if she wants to chase the Peacock)

Claire chasing the chicken. She loves animals ... a little too much.

She loved seeing all the animals and would spend a couple of minutes at each animal's habitat trying to figure out how to climb the fence so she can pet the animals.

Nobel effort

She figured out she could feed the Alpaca just like she feeds Darby at home.
Her face lit up and she squealed with excited while grabbing the bag of food out of my hands.

Then we rode the rain. She's becoming a professional train-rider.
The zoo had the train path decorated for Halloween. Too fun!

I asked her if she was having a good time on the train and she gave me a big nod!

We also had many scenic views of the hill country from the train.

My silly girl ...

After the train ride we fed more animals

And fed more animals ...

Then we went and had lunch together and came home for a big nap!
I adore being this little girls Mama.
I love the way she looks at me when we're having fun together.
I love how she loves to hold my hand.
I love that she walks up behind me while I'm cooking dinner to hug and rubs my legs.
I love this girl.
