Forget me not ...

I've found myself thinking a bit this afternoon about the past ten months. In all the bliss, chaos and fun ... I've realized how much time stay-at-home Mom's spend pouring into others. I write this as I sit here with an unbelievable sunburn. (Don't worry, Claire had SPF 50 from head to toe as well as her SPF guarding swimsuit and over sized sunhat.) I remembered to sunscreen the baby, but forgot to sunscreen myself. Luckily, I always keep a bottle of Aloe in the fridge!

I had to go to the dentist this week and for the first time in my life I was scared. In the past, I've been fortunate to never need any any major dental work and have only one cavity. As I drove to the dentist I was thinking "Have I even been brushing my teeth more than once a day for the past ten months??" Gross!

I had to go into work for a meeting on Monday (I work primarily from home) and on my way I realized I managed to feed Claire lunch but forgot to eat myself.

As Claire approaches 10-months the skies seem a littler more blue and the days more beautiful. We are crawling out of "survival mode" and slipping into the blissful days of summer. The solution to making a quick exit of the "survival highway" means that I must get up an hour before Claire wakes up. (It will eventually evolve into much earlier as she heads off to school.) In order for me to have quality time with the Lord and make a flexible "game plan" for the day, this time is crucial to me. When Claire wakes I feed her and then we head out for a jog. It's been INCREDIBLE how much more energy I have by getting up an hour earlier verses crawling out of bed to exercise right away. Having the time early in the morning to pray, ask God how I can serve my family in better ways, read, and worship made for such a better day that when I tried to find a few minutes during nap time to do these things.

I'm really enjoying blogs lately. Reading my friends blogs, keeping up with their growing families. I've also found some amazing blogs written by other stay-at-home Mom's with fabulous tips, encouragement, guidance, etc. It's been interesting to watch God send some of these blogs my way lately just when I second guess myself or find myself worrying about something. I stumbled upon this ebook, written by another blogging mom, at just the right time!

Also, things are glorious here in Austin. The weather is divine and we are excited for a busy summer!
