the bright side: The fits ...

It's been an interesting week for me and my "angel" baby. She has always truly, honestly been an angel. She is a great baby, hardly cries (didn't even cry when she was born!), goes with the flow and very little upsets her. However, I will say that when she does get upset - the drama is unleashed. Not for long ... but a few very dramatic seconds. (wonder where she gets that?) :)

This week, she is testing the waters. She's decided that she can't have me out of her sight or she throws a fit. And when I tell her not to touch something or get into something, she sits down closes her eyes and tries with all her might to push some tears out of her eyes and she yells out a fake "cry/squeal." Then she quickly moves to dropping her head and stick out the pouty lip while continuing to fake "cry." It's hilarious.

I laughed hysterically at her the first time she tried it this week because I was shocked that we're already at this point in her development. My laughter confused her to the point of making her even more mad at me. She's had about one fake "fit" each day this week but she does understand when we tell her not to do something so I guess that is a plus. It's funny and even heartbreaking at times to hear myself move into a disciplinary role - welcome to parenting!

We've taught her to "give me five" this week. We are working on a new thing each week so she's got a few tricks up her sleeves.

This morning, we got up early for our morning jog/walk and then took Daddy to work. Claire and I met some girlfriends for breakfast and then headed to James' fourth birthday party. This pics didn't turn out so great since I refuse to wash out the pics by using the flash. (I've GOT to get that 50mm lens asap!) But here is some of the fun!
