Claire is 8 weeks old today. What in the world? She's amazing and changing so much every day.
We had a wonderful, peaceful weekend. Three days off was much needed. We had talked about spending the night in San Antonio one night as a little family getaway but were afraid it would end up being really hot and miserable for Claire. As with most things we normally like to do this time of year. Ahh ... next summer we are going to have some fun for sure!
Ethan made me promise to start taking an hour a day for myself. It's really hard to do as I can always think of something else I should be doing. We've learned so much about ourselves over the last year and a half. I'm so thankful for the way God has wired us, but I have a hard time sitting still and being selfish with my time. However, a bath or a book or even blogging are some of my favorite late night things to do. So here I am taking my hour to update family and friends on little miss Claire.
She's is literally a little angel. (Secrets of The Baby Whisperer is our book of choice and after completing the "What type of baby to you have?" quiz .. turns out Claire is the best of the best).
We made a trip to the doctor today thinking that she had somehow picked up pin worms. Ethan found a little worm on her leg this morning but we're not sure whether or not she has them. Here nor there ... she weighed in at 12 lbs 6 ounces. We have officially been out of the newborn diapers for about a week (I think we kept her in them a few days too long trying to use them all up).
She's sleeping around 6 hours straight before getting hungry. So glad for her, unfortunately I'm not getting to bed until 11:00 or 12:00 so I'm not enjoying the 6 hours of sleep that she is.

But like I said ... she's just goes right along with the flow. She still looks a lot like Ethan but some of our friends are saying they are starting to see pieces of me in her as well. Either way - I love her. She definitely resembles my baby photos and we both see a lot of my personality in her.
She loves her daddy ... no matter what he may think. This is such a weird time for guys as the babies are so dependent on Mommy's.

We are a happy family here in Austin. Looking forward to Ethan getting on a more normal schedule so he can be involved in many of the things he's missing working late. We are talking about going on the ski trip with the youth in December. It would be nice to go being that it's my job to do the planning and such. :)
