Here is a preview of her the current smile she is working on. She has this big open mouth grin that pops up every now and then. Her first smiles were at Ethan ... right before bath time. Two of her favorites. :)
She has also started pushing her paci back into her mouth with her hand when it falls out ... brilliant! :) Sunday she slept for six and a half hours before her first feeding! She's eating like a pig and growing and changing so much every day!
I'm back at work as of Monday. Daily I am amazed at the abundance of blessings God pours on us ... and the last two days have been no exception. My incredible co-workers and pastors are allowing me to work from home some and bring Claire into the office. The love and response to this schedule is incredible. Everyone at the office loves Claire and I'm frequently visited by everyone to get a peak at my sleepy little angel. It's amazing to sit back and watch everyone just love on her.
Yesterday, I was taking notes on my laptop during our youth meeting and Claire (lying in my lap) started to fuss. Kevin and Devin (our college interns) to the rescue! These guys were rock stars, automatically taking Claire and working the pacifier trying to get her to settle down so I could concentrate. They are my hero's.
Ethan and Claire had their first Daddy-Daughter morning this morning. He was also a rock star, and came into my office a little flustered and said "I'm exhausted." ha ha. He said he hadn't realized how much it took for one person to get her ready, fed, in her car seat and in the car with the truckload of stuff we have to take with us. :) We tag team it so often I hadn't realized he hadn't had the opportunity to do it all on his own!
Tuesday afternoons our friend Sheryl is going to watch Claire. Sheryl just had a sweet baby girl who is a month older than Claire. This afternoon Claire hung out in the main church building with Sheryl and a bunch of women who were painting one of the children's floors. Again ... it was so amazing just to watch some of our sweet friends love on and help take care of Claire.
God has blessed us with so many people who feel like family as we have been missing our families so much since Claire arrived. Our family has been unbelievably loved the past 6 weeks (really the past year and half we've been in Austin).
