she's here and she's perfect ...

She finally made her debut Tuesday morning at 3:18 am!
Claire Adelaide weight 7 lbs 11 oz and is 21 inches long.
She's amazing ...
She looks just like her daddy! When we first saw her we couldn't believe it. However, all of our friends babies here so far have favored the father. Someone told me that newborns often do so that the fathers will have an easier time bonding with baby ...
She instantly fell in love with Ethan ... seriously. She just stares at him and loves his voice.

Thankfully, we did not have to be induced. I labored for about 12 hours and after only 27 minutes of pushing, she came into the world! Not looking to do that again anytime soon, but all in all her delivery went very well and we were all very fortunate.
She really is perfect in our eyes. She passed all the baby tests with flying colors and his very healthy! The nurses bragged on her so much. She is a great feeder and only lost about 2 ounces in the hospital! Our first doctors appointment is tomorrow morning!

Here is our first family photo, better ones to come soon where you can actually see her sweet face! :)
We come home on Wednesday afternoon. A quick 36 hours in the hospital. Ethan drove 20 miles an hour and Claire loved the vibrations and warm sun on her face. I was praying for a head of hair on this girl and we got it!
We arrived home to a beautiful, quiet apartment. Mom had candles lit and the Willis family brought us over an amazing dinner from Olive Garden!

Her first night went well overall. We are learning so much about her and after a few feedings and a changed diaper, we all slept for a 3 1/2 hour stretch! :)
Today has been filled with cat naps and staring at our sweet baby girl. Darby has made a smooth transition so far! She's loves staring at Claire and sniffing her feet! Any noise she makes she jumps up and looks at me to let me know that Claire is stirring. If Claire cries, she starts to whine helplessly with her - wondering what's wrong. I think she might just be our baby monitor!

We have been bombarded with calls, texts, emails and facebook messages for so many loving family and friends. We are so thankful to have so many wonderful people to surround her.
We can't wait for everyone to meet her!

I can't even begin to express what a blessing Ethan and yours relationship is to Dustin and I. Your attentiveness to detail/every detail about someone or something is important....priceless. To hear you write about your love for the Lord, each other, the Precious gift of Claire, life is a beautiful blessing that strums the very chords of my heart and soul. I love you guys so much and thank God all the time for having put you in my life!!!
