I guess I need to apologize for not making a "formal" announcement that we picked a baby name. I received a couple of responses to the last blog.
Awhile back I wrote about how I decided I wanted Ethan to pick her name. Claire has been his favorite girl name and I guess one day, her name was just Claire. We decided to try it out for a week and it stuck. We let family know, but really haven't made a big deal out of it.
So there it is. Claire. We love it. No middle name as of yet but we have some ideas ...
I've said this before, but I LOVE getting to watch Ethan turn into "Daddy." The way he talks about Claire, how protective he's already become and how he's encouraged to continue to become a better man. I can't wait to see the hold she has on him when she arrives!
A friend at church who Ethan thinks the world of let him borrow "She Calls Me Daddy." Ethan's been reading it every night before bed and is really enjoying it. It's stirred up great conversation for us on so many different levels of becoming new parents.
I can't complain one bit, his enthusiasm for being an amazing Daddy has benefited me. He's talked about how important it will be for Claire to see how he responds and loves me. He's been a rock star and I jokingly told him last night it seems everything he touches these days turns to gold :). Selfless and serving ... yesterday he folded all the laundry and did the dishes before heading to work! He's been full of romantic/sweet ideas of things to do around town. This week he told me how great he thought I looked and said "Pregnancy suites you." I think any girl whose been pregnant can appreciate a comment like that. At 7 1/2 months into pregnancy, it's just what I needed to hear.
I love this man and I'm so thankful I get to have his little girl!
