Another week

It's been an interesting week around here. Ethan was sick for a couple of days and I had a crazy week at work. We are getting ready to move into our new office and youth buildings and I spent a day driving around buying Wii's, games, etc for the youth buildings. It was fun but exhausting. Monday morning the Youth staff met with a photographer to take our new photos for the new church web site. They really look amazing. Lindy, the photographer who is also my mentor/friend I'm meeting with, took us to an urban landscape down at UT. It was really fun ... but I don't enjoy having my picture taken when I pregnant. :) She did a great job, and I'm excited to share our super cool staff photos in the near future!

For the most part, we finished painting the nursery this weekend. I still need to touch up a few spots and paint the stems on the walls but for now I'm putting down my brush. I forgot how exhausting painting a room can be! I'm having a blast with it all. I have such a passion for art and the creative that I'm really seeing how it seeps into every aspect of our lives. I think that's why it is so hard for me to commit to say a certain bedding set or a "themed nursery." I'm thankful Ethan is wired creatively as well. Even though it's different and not quite a visual, it's so good to be married to someone who understands that God made us this way for a reason.

The color doesn't look right in the pictures, but it looks great with the white furniture. The paint color is called Turquoise Sea. We've picked a white crib with a drawer underneath that is a pretty basic-modern shape.

We are in week 23 of our pregnancy and I'm really starting to feel it! A lot of normal, everyday things have become uncomfortable. Sitting, sleeping, walking up stairs, etc. It's really amazing the dramatic changes that our bodies undergo. I'm enjoying being pregnant a lot. Today we spent a lot of time moving things out to the garage and cooking a meal for another family at church, by the end of the day my legs were killing me. Such cliche pregnant problems. :)

Our doctors appointment last Monday went really well.  In April I start going twice a week. The doctor asked if people had started saying weird things to us. We laughed and told her that we are getting the typical pregnancy comments. It's really amazing what people will say and no one has said anything overly earth shattering to us.

Lately, it's just been unwanted opinions and suggestions as far as naming the baby goes. Everyone wants to know what names you're thinking of naming the baby and most times we'll tell them our ideas. Just a word from the wise ... pregnant couples don't want to hear any sort of bad connotations you may have with that name ... they don't really care what your opinion of the name is unless they ask for it ... and they also could care less who you know that also named their baby that name. That last one has been bugging my lately ... it really can take away the special feeling you have about the name when people tell you that two other people they know just had a baby girl and used the same name ... blah! That is the end of my pregnant rant for now.

My class at UT ended last week so I'm looking forward to having a little more time at home.

It rained for three or four days straight which is out of the ordinary for Austin. The sun came out this afternoon and it was beautiful.  We spent some time playing Mario Kart on the Wii since we were stuck inside due to the rain. It's such a fun game!
