Valentines Day and then some

First and foremost, Ethan got his new guitar on Friday. He had been so patient and was able to finally bring it home on Friday. He was so excited he skipped eating lunch to go pick it up and raced home to try it out.

He also spent some time on Thursday night and hung some string swings in an inset archway in our apartment.  (Only four guitars would fit so mine is on another wall.) I was pretty impressed with the outcome and we now have a music-nook, I love my creative husband.

We had a really nice relaxing night at home Friday night. It doesn't seem like we spend a whole lot of time at home these days.

Valentines Day was a great day. Ethan had to work, which was a bummer, but I went up and had lunch with him at an Italian restaurant. Ethan had asked me a couple of days before what I wanted to do for V-day. He thought we'd go to a nice restaurant in Lakeway and such. Sounded good to me, but it seems like lately we've been eating out a lot and I was in the mood for something different. I suggested we go to Dave and Busters and spend the night playing video games ... needless to say that made Ethan very, very happy. We had the BEST time last night - we rocked Jurassic Park and won like 2,000 tickets. ha ha. It was so good to do something non-traditional for Valentines Day.

When we got home he brought in the flowers he'd bought me this year. He bought me a Begonia plant and it's beautiful. I was super excited to get a plant this year instead of fresh cut flowers, it will be nice to have something that continues to grow. We call it our "love plant."

He picked the colors because they reminded him of my favorite flower, the frangipani. I actually have a frangipani plant growing in our house. When we moved to Texas I was SO excited that I could grow one here. The Natural Gardner is less than a block from our apartment and I bought a one from them as soon as their spring shipment came in. It's been inside for the past few months, it is a tropical plant and has to be indoors when it gets a bit chilly outside. I will have to take pictures when it blooms. Right now, it is a tall healthy tree/plant but it got a little confused in January. It started to hibernate and then changed it's mind - I can't blame the poor plant, we had like two days of 30 degrees and then a few days of 65-70 degrees. So it lost a bunch of it's leaves but the top leaves are still growing strong and healthy ... it's pretty funny looking.

We spent most of the day today at church, and then went to Barnes and Noble to read for a bit and had a leisurely lunch at the Galleria. It's lovely here today. I've been working on my photography assignments this afternoon: Texture, Pattern and Contrast. I'm enjoying this class and I'm glad to be taking it with Carrie. It's nice to have a friend there.

We find out what we're having on Thursday ... we are both actually a little nervous about it. Not sure why ... I guess it's like we are meeting our first child for the first time, sort of. It's crazy. I'm looking forward to picking out a paint color for the nursery.

60 days till our baby-moon at Port A ... we can't wait. A couple of our other pregnant friends are thinking of heading to Port A as well before babies arrive. There will many a pregnant belly at Port A this spring ...
