We consented to the down syndrome screenings and I had blood work taken for that two weeks ago. I say "we" consented but really I was given a bunch of paperwork that I really had no idea about and went ahead and consented to some screenings. It's amazing how clueless I've been in this process. After talking it over with Ethan we decided to go ahead with the screening even though the risk of false positives is very high. If our baby was going to be down syndrome, we wanted to know so that we could set up a support network with friends and be prepared.
Thankfully, the blood work came back negative and we continue to pray for a healthy baby.
Ethan just called on his first break and I told him the test results about about the appointment. It's so cool as a wife to hear the excitement, concern and love that he already has for the little bug. This whole process is nothing short of amazing.
It's raining here today. I'm such a sun-oriented person that I don't usually enjoy rainy days. However, rain means all of our lakes will begin filling up again for a beautiful summer!
