Ethan ... and grandparents.

I love my husband. It's amazing how long yet how short the last 5 years have been and how much are lives have drastically changed. And will continue to change from now until forever ...

Ethan is one of the most kind and unselfish people I have ever met. We both still have some growing to do, but I'm amazed at how God has blessed me with such a loving, supportive husband. He reminds me so much of my Dad and I'm so thankful for that.

I firmly believe that he would do anything for our family and will do whatever it takes to make sure we are taken care of. My prayer is that although his sacrifices may be great, that he will not lose site of the adventurous spirit God gave him. I pray that he understands the greatest gift he can pass on to our children is the lesson that following God's calling is far more important than anything else.

Some sacrifices will be necessary, but I am constantly praying that he doesn't sell out. I fear that he will buy into the idea that his role is to put food on the table and only make choices that the "world" calls responsible. To make sure we have a cushioned savings account and a house in a good school district. Blah. Don't get me wrong, I would rejoice if God decided to allow us to have a nice big savings account, a house, two cars ... but not if it means going against God's will for our lives or ignoring a greater calling.

So far, God's called us to make many decisions that are not safe and are not always the most "responsible" ... and I hope that he continues to challenge and lead us always.

I am also praying that God prepares our parents for this new stage of life. I would ask nothing more of our parents that to help us instill Godly wisdom, Purity, and strong Spiritual foundation to our children.

So far, my Mom likes the name "MiMi" and I'm liking "Papa" for Dad but he isn't fulling embracing a grandparent name. Maybe they could call him Dude.

My parents are Mimi and Papa! Not that Kate has ever uttered those words... all she says is "da-da" and "uh"! Loved this blog.
