friends

Another crazy week gone by! I've found my self exhausted and with my brain constantly in full speed. So much going on but we wouldn't have it any other way. Hopefully things will slow down for some R&R in the next couple weeks.

I do often comment on how good God has been to us with an abundance of loving friends and almost family down here. In such a short time! However, recently I've been reflecting on friends we miss so much. Friends all over the world, many we met and fell in love with during college. Lately, frequent phone calls to Tennessee and Missouri have left me really missing some dear friends. Friends whose babies I haven't even met!!! And who I want my baby to know and love.

The thought of moving away from Austin rips our hearts in two, but praise God we don't serve a God who calls us to live comfortably. The next year it will be hard to be so far away from family and friends, but we are so thankful God has blessed us with knowing that his will often doesn't call us to live close to the ones we love. However, God continues to bless us daily as we follow him. We pray that Austin is where God has us for many years to come, but if he calls us somewhere else I can only imagine the adventures and friendships he has waiting for us there.

For now ... we are Texans and loving it!

Friday night was pretty exciting for us. :) The cast and crew of Friday Night Lights started showing up at church on Friday afternoon. I hadn't heard anything about this as I've been out most of the week at UT in a class. It wasn't hard to find another friend who was enthused about the Hollywood type set going up in our parking lot. Later on Friday night we went back to the church to check out all the cool gear. We then went to the "set" - an amazing large home down the street from the church. After talking to a police officer guarding set and one of the location directors, Ethan, Sheryl, Mom and I received tours of the set while they were filming. It was pretty amazing and they were shooting a party in around the pool of the home.  The scenery alone was incredible but it was pretty cool to see Kyle Chandler and some of the other stars. (I must admit that I have never seen one episode of the show or the movie ...)

Always an adventure in Austin!
