Our first blog ...

Thanks to the inspiration of Janie and Ben ... we've decided to start blogging all our adventures in Tulsa to try and help keep in touch with family and friends. God has been so faithful as always and it's been amazing to watch him work this summer.

Ethan moved to Tulsa in Mid-July to start his first week as the Youth Minister at ROCC. I joined him on Friday and had a job interview with a young Christian media company in Tulsa. We left for CIY in Cleveland, Tenn. the following Sunday. We were able to really get to know a handful of the youth and we had a wonderful time. I found out that week that I got the job I had applied for and started work when we returned from Tenn.

It's been a whirlwind of work, unpacking, children's and youth ministry and trying to find some time to lie around the pool. We are finally beginning to feel "settled."

Just to brag on Ethan a little bit: This past weekend was VBS which Ethan worked very hard on! For his first VBS and only having 3 - 4 weeks to work on it ... it turned out very well. Ethan was a little nervous about our first leadership meetings that were held this past Sunday. While he was in a meeting with the male leadership, I had several people approach me and brag on Ethan. He has received great compliments from the families who are actively involved in the church. We have many parents who are very supportive of our decisions and it's been such a blessing. It has also been amazing to see how Ethan has grown just in the short time we've been here. He has really stepped up and taken on a lot of responsibility in the church. He has always been great with teenagers, but over the last month I've seen his skills elementary age kids improve.

I thank God every day for my amazing husband!

Again, it's been wonderful to see God smooth everything out. From stress, to finances to relationships ... we continue to see his hand at work in every aspect of our lives!

The past couple of weeks, Ethan and I did feel that Satan was attacking our personal relationship. But again, God provided and things always smoothed over and our love for one another grew heaps!! We realize now that Satan's attacks are more apparent when he knows that God using us ... so in the end it was a great encouragement.

Please keep us in your prayers!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. My wife will be so jealous that I was the first to post on your blog. I'm excited for you guys. I know you've been in a holding pattern for quite a while so it is always good to hear of brothers and sisters inheriting thier work from the Lord after a season of waiting. Moving to a new church is one of the hardest things I could ever imagine going through. It sounds like it has been a joyful transition.

I'm adding your blog to my daily blog checks. Peace of Christ to you both.

Hey, Buddy (and Buddy-ette)! Great to see you have a blog, now see if you can keep this one updated!!! I don't even try to blog 'cause I know I'd never keep with it... Just wait till you have three kids and we'll see how you do!

So glad to see you're doing well. Keep up the great work, guys, and you'll accomplish so much for the Lord. You'll touch so many lives, just like you've always done.

We miss you in Kansas City!

Hey guys! I'd also like to dido my husband and say that I hope you guys are able to keep up the blog - maybe once a week...? Even though you don't have kids yet (ooooh, we can't wait - they'll be so cute :) ) I know that ministry is still hard work. Working for the Lord is no easy task, but it is joyous! We'll pray for continuous strength and wisdom, and not to mention peace and perseverence, and clarity, and all that good stuff. We love you guys so much and miss you even more. You are definitely a beautiful light in our lives, I'm glad that you'll get to shed that light in others lives. Blessings in Christ.

Is your clock off? It's definitely not 9:46 in the morning. More like, 3:46pm. You might want to get that fixed or you'll be all sorts of confused.

'Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvast if we do not give up.' Galations 6:9

I like this one :).

I know I speak for the all of the senior girls when I say how incredibly much we miss you guys. It's very good to hear nothing but good news from Mike and Laura, and we are so happy that God found such a marvelous place for the two of you to do His work.
You always added life to the college group while you were in little JC, MO, and we thank you for that so much.
Good luck to you two in everything to come.
